Ric Flair Agrees With Vince Russo For The First Time, He’d Love To Die In A Wrestling Ring

Ric Flair says he finally found some common ground with Vince Russo.

Flair and Russo have had a contentious relationship over the years due to their time together in WCW. Russo is often blamed for the demise of WCW, but Flair has gone on record and said the company was in bad shape before Russo’s arrival.

The pair have never truly seen eye-to-eye, and now Flair says he finally found some common ground with Russo.

A recent episode of Sportskeeda’s The Wrestling Outlaws featured Vince Russo commenting about Flair’s in ring career. Russo claimed Flair’s dream is dying in a wrestling ring.

“Ric Flair’s absolute dream is to go out in the middle of a wrestling ring. To him, that is the perfect story for the end of Ric Flair,” Russo said. “That is the perfect, final last chapter, ‘He died in a wrestling ring.’ I really believe that’s what he wants.”

Flair responded and said he agreed with Russo, and he would love to die in the ring.

“For the first time @thevincerusso, I totally agree with you. We’ve had our differences, probably because of Bischoff, but he’s an issue in everyone’s life. I left my entire family behind trying to be the best I could be in professional wrestling. I totally agree with you that I would love to die in the ring. I spent my entire life there, so why not? Wooooo! Thank you for the respect which @ebischoff has never shown me,” Flair wrote on Twitter.

Flair vs. Bischoff

Flair’s issues with Bischoff stem from their time together in WCW. Flair maintained that Bischoff tried to bury him in WCW and said he held no value anymore. Flair recently told Theo Von on This Past Weekend that working for Bischoff in WCW was very difficult.

“Hated it. The worst,” Flair said. “Well, I was out of sight, out of mind. It didn’t work. He kept trying to lose me. He thought if he could take me off TV and bury me, he forgot where I’d been for 20 years, 25 years before I met him. You don’t lose 25 years of being a man and then all of a sudden have some dipshit try and put you in the back of the pack. He beat my brains out, though. That was a big-time loss of self-confidence, period, in my life.” [H/T Wrestling Inc]

Bischoff once suspended Flair for missing a WCW Thunder taping to take his son to a wrestling meet. The behind-the-scenes issues between the two ultimately became a storyline, as Flair and Bischoff faced off at WCW Starrcade 1998. Bischoff cheated to win, and the pair had a rematch the following night on Nitro, with Flair winning this time.
