Scott Garland, also known as Scotty 2 Hotty, has been working for AEW behind the scenes.
Scotty 2 Hotty previously worked for WWE as a trainer at NXT from 2016 to 2021. He requested his WWE release in November 2021 and subsequently returned to the independent scene. As previously reported, he started working with AEW in July.
Speaking with Wrestling With Johners, Scotty 2 Hotty confirmed that he has been working with AEW. (H/t Jeremy Lambert of Fightful for the transcription.)
“I don’t think it’s a huge secret that I’ve been working for AEW as a producer behind the scenes, as a coach and producer there,” he said. “I have an opportunity to do more with them, on a regular basis. It looks like at the beginning of the year, I’ll be going pretty hard with them if everything works out the way I hope it does.”
Scotty 2 Hotty had a memorable in-ring career with WWE. He held the WWE Tag Team Championship and the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship, among other accolades.
