Pat McAfee says he has not re-signed with ESPN College GameDay.
WWE SmackDown commentator Pat McAfee joined ESPN College GameDay in September 2022, and he has been featured on the popular show. The Athletic recently ran a poll in which they asked fans how they feel about McAfee being on the show. 30.1% responded, “Like it”, 48.9% responded “Don’t like it,” and 21% answered “No opinion.
McAfee took to social media and commented on the news by saying that he has heard his critics loud and clear, and he has not re-signed a contract with the show. McAfee stated that he is not right for some crowds, and the “distinguished” college football fans are one of them. He wrote that he is excited to enjoy the rest of the year and see what the future holds.
McAfee also stated that being on the show has been an honor, and he has had a lot of fun.
Since he joined College GameDay, McAfee has only made a few one-off appearances for WWE. It is not known how McAfee’s status with the show could impact his potential return to WWE. WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
