Tyson Fury‘s journey in the wrestling world is seemingly over, at least for the time being.
Tyson Fury, who holds the WBC heavyweight title, crossed over into the wrestling world on the October 3, 2019 episode of WWE SmackDown. He started feuding with Braun Strowman, and they clashed at WWE Crown Jewel 2019. Fury also appeared on the November 8 episode of WWE SmackDown. He later appeared at WWE Clash at the Castle and memorably sang with Drew McIntyre.
Earlier this week, Tyson Fury teased his potential WWE return by saying there is still a lot of opportunity there. However, speaking with Mike Coppinger of ESPN, Tyson Fury stated that he is likely finished with wrestling.
“WWE’s too hard for me,” Tyson Fury said. “Boxing is much easier than WWE. It’s very physical and taxing on the body. WWE, getting slammed on the floor and all that sort of stuff. I’d rather move around the ring and dodge punches.”
Fury also noted that he has been dealt with plenty of injuries, but he believes boxing is more entertaining when he is in it.
“I’ve been boxing 15 years as a pro,” said Fury, who had surgery on both elbows in 2021. “I’m going to be prone to injuries, you know, elbows, knees, shoulders, ankles, everything that can go wrong on somebody usually at our age now that goes wrong.”
“Boxing is definitely more entertaining when I’m in it,” Fury added. “I’ll say boxing will be f—ed when I’m gone.”
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
