Ever since making his AEW debut, Powerhouse Will Hobbs has been playing the character of a heel. He was part of WWE veteran Taz’s faction, Team Taz. Currently, Hobbs is feuding with former AEW World Champion, The Ocho, Chris Jericho.
A couple of weeks ago, Don Callis revealed who the newest recruit for his family was. It was none other than Hobbs. Powerhouse Hobbs showed up out of the blue and attacked Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega. This led to a match between him and The Ocho on the following episode of AEW Dynamite. Hobbs won the match quite easily.
This past Wednesday on Dynamite, Powerhouse Hobbs revealed the real reason why he aligned himself with Don Callis and chose to attack Chris Jericho.
“February 22nd, 1998 was supposed to be the greatest day of my life. I had the chance to meet my hero Chris Jericho. My grandmother, the woman that raised me, my big momma got me front row tickets to meet you. And what did you do Chris? You walked past that old lady, told her to shut up, looked at me and told me to sit my ass down. 25 years Chris! I held on that frustration. A seven-year-old child! But I swore Chris, I swore, the day I got to look you dead in your eye, I was going to hurt you over and over, and over, and over. As I looked at you Chris, you were lifeless. So what did I do? I picked your ass up and Spinebustered you. And gave you a Spinebuster after Spinebuster after Spinebuster,” Will Hobbs said.
Powerhouse Hobbs is also a one-time AEW TNT Champion.
