Watch: Andre the Giant Once Hit A Pedigree During A Match

When you talk about the greatest professional wrestlers of all time, Andre The Giant certainly will be part of the conversation. The WWE Hall of Famer is someone that even non-wrestling fans are aware of.

Andre is often referred to as the Eighth Wonder of the World. The wrestling legend began his wrestling career in 1964 and he went on to dominate around the world.

Andre The Giant signed with WWE (the World Wrestling Federation at the time) back in 1984. He captured both the WWF World Heavyweight Championship and the WWF World Tag Team Championship once in his career. The former reign was a controversial one, as Andre gave his title to Ted DiBiase. WWF President Jack Tunney vacated the title and DiBiase’s reign is not recognized by WWE, but Andre’s is.

Andre The Giant stood seven feet and four inches tall and weighed over five hundred pounds. Thus, he never really needed any devastating finisher such as the Stone Cold Stunner or the Tombstone Piledriver. With his massive body mass, all he needs to do is use his own body weight to instill punishment in his opponents. His finishers are a standing Elbow Drop and another is him hitting a Powerslam, and lastly, him squashing his opponents by sitting on them.

While there are many iconic finishers, one of the most decorated maneuvers of them all is Triple H’s signature move, The Pedigree. Ever since The Game began to use the move, it has been highly protected.

The move is widely known as Triple H’s move, but Andre has also used a variation of the finisher before. Seeing him do it, certainly looks more devastating than it usually seems to be.

Andre The Giant passed away in 1993 at the age of 46. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame that same year.
