Adam Copeland Opens Up About Knowing When It’s Time To Retire

It has been almost three weeks since the entire wrestling world was caught by surprise when WWE Hall of Famer Edge made an unexpected appearance on AEW programming. He now goes by his real name, Adam Copeland. His debut appearance for the Jacksonville-based promotion was at the WrestleDream pay-per-view.

It is no secret that The Rated R Superstar was forced to retire from professional wrestling back in 2011. It was due to multiple neck injuries; thus, he had to quit the profession for his health.

Fast forward nine years later, and he was back to do what he loves doing the most. Since returning in 2020, the one common question was, “How long will this run last?” Everyone was convinced that Adam Copeland is going to compete in a few matches and then officially hang his boots. But so far, that day has not arrived yet.

He was recently interviewed by the Toronto Sun. Copeland shared when he is planning to retire on his own terms.

“I think the minute it gets old is when I should get out because to get hit with that much adrenaline and that much emotion, if that got old to you, then we’ve got to check a pulse. It’s so much fun to be involved in moments like that and, as a wrestling fan, to be involved in moments like that because I take myself back to putting my butt in that chair and watching and what excited me and things like that as a fan hyped me. To be a part of bringing that to a fan, I mean, come on, that’s the best,” Adam Copeland said.

Copeland also mentioned that he’s in AEW just so he can end his career with Christian Cage.
