WWE Hall of Famer Tammy Sytch, formerly known as Sunny, is seeking a lower sentence in her DUI manslaughter case.
In May 2022, Sytch was arrested on nine charges related to a fatal car accident, which led to the death of Julian LaFrancis Lasseter. She later pleaded no contest to being charged with DUI causing death.
She also pleaded no contest to one felony charge of driving with a suspended revoked license causing death, four counts of DUI with damage to person, and two counts of DUI with damage to property. The Florida State Attorney called Sytch a danger to society and sought 26 years of incarceration.
Citing court records, Frank Fernandez of the Daytona Beach News-Journal, Tammy Sytch’s attorney, Assistant Public Defender Jessica Roberts, is seeking a lower sentence, as she needs specialized treatment for a mental disorder or a disability. Sytch must serve a minimum of at least 10.5 years, but Roberts is seeking a “downward departure,” which would be less than that.

Fernandez cited the motion Roberts filed, which argued that Sytch “requires specialized treatment for a mental disorder that is unrelated to substance abuse or addiction or for a physical disability, and the defendant is amenable to treatment.”
Two witnesses were named in another document: Dr. Jeffrey Danziger and Dr. John Matthew Fabian. Both of them are forensic and clinical psychiatrists, and because they were named, they may testify.
Sytch previously said she was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, borderline personality disorder and bipolar disorder.
Further details are unclear at this time. Sytch is scheduled to appear for sentencing on November 27.
