Trinity is happy that she bet on herself and made the jump to IMPACT Wrestling this year.
IMPACT Knockouts Champion Trinity was a recent guest on Busted Open Radio. When asked about all of the complimentary things Mickie James has said about her in recent weeks, Trinity said it makes her happy and fulfilled in many ways.
“It’s very reassuring, and it makes me happy,” Trinity said. “And it makes me feel fulfilled in a lot of ways. This wrestling journey, especially as a woman, is not an easy road. There’s a lot of highs and lows, and somewhere along my career, I stopped feeling like, or I didn’t feel like I was as valued to the women’s division. I wasn’t a star.
“Those things really started to set in my head. Which is also why I think it led me down this road to really figure it out and prove for myself, not for anybody else, that I belong in this world in this business, and that I am a game changer, and that I am a star. I really need it to prove that to myself, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity.
“Even with all the negativity that happened with my situation. I really feel that it led me to where I am now and to IMPACT and to be given this opportunity to just prove myself for myself. And I hope that in the future that it inspires others and that when one door closes, just know as long as you keep going that you can find your way through another door.”
Stepping out of your comfort zone
Mickie James went on to credit Trinity for stepping out of her comfort zone and betting on herself by going to IMPACT Wrestling. This is something Trinity was in complete agreement with.
“I agree with everything you said,” Trinity said. “That’s exactly what I felt and that fear of the unknown and leaving something that you know you’re safe in, or you know how it works and how it goes to completely challenge that and not know if you’re gonna succeed or if you’re gonna make it a lot of times that fear stops us from doing things we may dream of, or that we really want to do, but I’m very glad that I did. Because I wouldn’t be here now, and I wouldn’t have this championship.”
When asked what made her choose IMPACT instead of going somewhere else, Trinity said it came down to multiple factors.
“The Division, the women, the camaraderie there,” Trinity said. “A couple of my friends from FCW, who I trust and I know who would not be wrong are there. And I knew that I would be surrounded by a good team of people and great workers, and I knew that I would be challenged in IMPACT. I also felt that I would be given that space to figure me out in IMPACT; I think I made the best decision. I don’t think it could have worked out for me better anywhere else.”
