The rematch is set for NXT Halloween Havoc Night Two.
In the main event of the October 17 episode of WWE NXT, Carmelo Hayes defeated Baron Corbin and Dijak to earn a shot at Ilja Dragunov‘s NXT Championship. Corbin floored Dijak with the end of days, and after hitting Corbin with Nothing but Net, the former champion pinned Dijak. In doing so, he clinched his place in the title match at NXT Halloween Havoc Night Two on October 31.
The match will mark Hayes’ chance to regain the gold after Dragunov dethroned him at NXT No Mercy. It will also serve as their rubber match, as Hayes scored the win when Dragunov challenged him for the title at NXT Great American Bash.
The win came with some controversy, as Trick Williams had been added to the bout earlier in the show. However, he was found laid out backstage in the aftermath of an attack. The broadcast team then revealed that he had been taken to the hospital, so he would be unable to compete in the main event.
As of this writing, no other matches have been announced for NXT Halloween Havoc Night Two.
