Jake Crist shares his thoughts on the anniversary of a special milestone.
Former IMPACT X-Division Champion Jake Crist took to social media to comment on the three-year anniversary of his decision to stop drinking. He reflected on his journey up to this point and stated that he was proud of what he has accomplished.
“[Giving up drinking] takes courage, it takes sacrifices, friends, family, anyone or anything that would set you off, you have to block that sh*t out,” Jake Crist wrote. “You have to look at it mine it’s garbage; bag it up, throw it on the curb, and watch the trash truck take it out of your life forever.
The temptations are REAL and they aren’t fun! I would only go to stores that I knew the layout of just to avoid walking down the beer isle. If I’m being honest, I thought I would be a man that would die with a cocktail in his hand.
Now, I feel like I can do anything! Including walking down the beer aisle! I have accomplished so many things in the last three years that I’m so proud of. Knowing deep down that this wouldn’t have happened if I didn’t make the decision do walk down this path that I’m currently on.”
Crist also thanked everyone for their support and offered his help to those who needed it.
Crist remains active on the independent scene. He often competes for Wrestling REVOLVER, where he holds the REVOLVER Championship. Crist recently defended the title against Ortiz at REVOLVER Redemption on October 8.
