Bryan Danielson Agreed To Wrestle In Mexico Before Injury, Claims Konnan

Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion and current AEW star Bryan Danielson recently suffered an unexpected injury. According to WWE veteran Konnan, prior to the injury, the American Dragon was supposedly going to compete in Mexico.

One of the marquee matches of 2023 was the one-on-one match between Bryan Danielson and Kuzuchika Okada. The first match between the two stars took place in the second edition of the Forbidden Door pay-per-view. Both wrestlers had a strong showing in the match. In the end, The American Dragon managed to pick up the win.

After the match, the news broke out that Danielson suffered a broken arm and thus was forced to sit out of action.

During the recent episode of the Keepin’ It 100 Podcast, wrestling veteran Konnan revealed that he was in talks with Danielson. The Blackpool Combat Club member was potentially going to show up in Mexico and compete in Lucha Underground.

“I talked to Bryan because we brought him once a long time ago, maybe 12 years ago. I saw him in AEW and I asked him if he wanted to do something in Mexico and he said yeah, I brought up a couple of people,” Konnan said. [H/T Wrestling Inc]

Following the injury, Konnan and Bryan Danielson have not yet spoken about the latter showing up in Mexico to wrestle.

Currently, the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion is busy in AEW. This week on the special Title Tuesday edition of AEWC Dynamite, Bryan Danielson defeated The Mogul Embassy’s Swerve Strickland. By doing so, the American Dragon has earned a shot at the TNT Championship.

Danielson will be challenging Christian Cage for the TBS Championship this Saturday on AEW Collision.
