Swerve Strickland Says Current Run Has Been Validating, Previews WrestleDream Match

Swerve Strickland says his run up to AEW WrestleDream has been validating for him.

In recent weeks, Swerve Strickland has been feuding with former AEW World Champion “Hangman” Adam Page. The two stars will clash at AEW WrestleDream. There Strickland will compete in his first singles match on an AEW pay-per-view.

Speaking with Adrian Hernandez of The Sporting Tribune, Swerve Strickland was asked to describe what the current run means to him. He stated that it was validating, and he discussed his feud with Page.

“It feels validating in a lot of ways,” Swerve Strickland said. “This is my first singles match a pay-per-view, and it’s against one of the biggest dogs in AEW, in the history of the company. We have a lot of differences.

“But the more that we do these promo battles back and forth and the more we’re face to face with each other, the more we inform the audience and educate one another about each other and what we want and what we’re after and what we fight for, the more we’re finding we’re actually not that different after all. There’s a lot more similarities. We are both very fierce, very hungry for what we want. The fact that I’m the one to bring that out of Hangman, that’s a big testament to who I am and what I offer to the company and what I am in general as a performer.”

WrestleZone will have coverage of AEW WrestleDream as it airs on October 1.
