Following the September 28 episode of IMPACT Wrestling, two major first-time-ever matches are set up for the upcoming IMPACT Bound For Glory event on October 21.
Firstly, KENTA will be returning to the promotion for the first time since August to challenge Chris Sabin for the IMPACT X-Division Title. After Sabin successfully defended his title against Alan Angels on September 28, a vignette informed him of the impending return of KENTA.
Later, they were confirmed to wrestle at Bound For Glory for the X-Division Championship in their first-ever singles meeting.
Later in the night, it was also confirmed that Trinity would be defending her IMPACT Knockouts World Title against Mickie James. James laid down the challenge to Trinity after saving her from an attack by the Shawntourag on September 28. This is largely a match rooted in respect, but both women are looking to prove that they are still the best at what they do come October 21.
