A New York court has denied WWE‘s restraining order against Panini, allowing the trading card company to continue making products based on the wrestling brand for the time being.
The recent decision from a New York court (via Fightful) gives Panini the right to continue making WWE products while WWE and Panini’s lawsuits continue in the courts. The restraining order was initially requested by WWE in an effort to force Panini to stop making products while both companies sorted things out in court.
Alongside the news, new documents have surfaced regarding the case, courtesy of Paul Lesko on Twitter. The documents give more insight into the case, which sees WWE accusing Panini of not fulfilling a part of their contract that stipulated that Panini make digital trading cards or physical trading card games by June 1, 2022.
According to the lawsuit, as a result of the alleged contract violation, WWE terminated its deal with Panini on August 25, 2023, but Panini continued to make products based on the company, leading to the lawsuit.
