Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn set their sights on gold once again.
During the September 22 episode of WWE SmackDown, a vignette aired for the team of Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn. They said that magic is in their blood and noticed that everyone who has touched the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship after them has fallen.
The video showed Shayna Baszler, Liv Morgan, Sonya Deville, and Piper Niven all in agony before they said, “Now who would go and conjure a spell like that?” The line was a clear dig at the idea of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship being “cursed” due to recent injuries.
Fyre and Dawn lost the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship to Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler in a unification match on June 23. They haven’t appeared on television since then, however, three different sets of WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions have been recognized in that time.
