The Miz comments on Dolph Ziggler‘s release.
WWE made several cuts on September 21, and one of the more noteworthy departures was former World Heavyweight Champion Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler first signed with WWE in 2004 and had a memorable run as Nicky of the Spirit Squad. He was later repackaged, and he debuted as Ziggler in 2008. One of the highlight’s of Ziggler’s tenure was his feud with The Miz, which included a Title vs. Career match at WWE No Mercy 2016.
In a post on Instagram, The Miz stated that he considered the No Mercy bout as one of the best matches of his career. He also stated that everything leading up to the match was great. Miz noted that Dolph Ziggler brought out the best in him every time they worked together. He also said he’ll miss that, but he looks forward to seeing what’s next for the former world champion.
Among other accolades, Dolph Ziggler is a former WWE United States Champion and a six-time Intercontinental Champion. Ziggler held the World Heavyweight Championship twice. He also won the Money in the Bank match in 2012. Additionally, he held the tag team titles four times, and he won the NXT Championship during a brief NXT run in 2022.
