Injury Updates On Jon Moxley And Adam Cole After AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam

Both Jon Moxley and Adam Cole reportedly suffered injuries at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam.

Jon Moxley lost the AEW International Championship to Rey Fenix on Wednesday. He suffered an apparent injury at the end of the bout, and it was evident that something went wrong.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reported that Jon Moxley suffered an injury, and the finish did not happen as originally planned. After the match, Moxley left under his own power. Per Sapp, he told people that he was okay, and AEW sources were optimistic that would be the case.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported that the backstage belief was that Jon Moxley may have suffered a concussion. Johnson also wrote that one source claimed that Moxley called for the new finish on the spot. In a tweet, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer wrote that Moxley was indeed diagnosed with a minor concussion.

Wade Keller of PWTorch provided more details. He noted that Jon Moxley suffered the injury in the pre-match brawl, and he changed the finish at the end of the match. Per Keller, he is not expected to miss much ring time.

Adam Cole Reportedly Leaves Hospital On Crutches

Additionally, Sapp wrote that AEW sources claimed that Cole was at the hospital after he suffered an injury at the end of AEW Dynamite. He ran out during MJF’s match with Samoa Joe and landed awkwardly when he jumped off the ramp.

Sapp cited sources and noted that Cole was out of the hospital and on crutches.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
