One-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Chelsea Green has had a good run since returning to the Stamford-based promotion. She seems to now be aiming to be holding two belts at the same time. Green has shown her interest in wanting to challenge Becky Lynch for her NXT Women’s Championship.
The Man became a Grandslam Champion last week on NXT. She defeated Tiffany Stratton to capture the one title that eluded her throughout her WWE career, the NXT Women’s Championship.
This past Monday night on Raw Mrs. Big Time Becks issued an open challenge to the entire women’s roster for her NXT Women’s Championship. The open challenge was answered by wrestling veteran Natalya.
Despite being determined to dethrone The Man, the Queen of Harts was unable to get the job done. After the match, WWE took to Twitter to ask a question to the members of the WWE Universe. The Stamford-based promotion wanted to know who deserved to challenge Becky Lynch next for her championship.
“Who deserves the next opportunity to challenge #WWENXT Women’s Champion @BeckyLynchWWE? #AndStill,” WWE tweeted.
Upon seeing the tweet, the self-proclaimed Hot Mess replied by claiming that she has to be the one to face Lynch. She also stated that is not only what she wants but the WWE Universe is also routing for her.
“ME. The entire @WWE universe wants to see me thrive. They love me,” Chelsea Green tweeted.
Chelsea Green claims she will never let WWE take her Tag Team title away
The self-proclaimed Hot Mess captured the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship along with Sonya Deville. Shortly after, Deville suffered an injury and was not medically cleared to compete.
Green refused to relinquish the titles and Piper Niven decided to be her tag team partner. The Scottish star also suffered an injury recently.
During an interview with Cageside Seats, Green revealed that she would never let the Stamford-based promotion take the title away from her no matter what.
“I did not give them the opportunity to take my favorite accessory away from me,” Chelsea Green said. “People were not gonna take this [Tag Team Championship] away. And if they even tried, I promise you, I would’ve been kicking and screaming. They would’ve had to drag the belt away from me while I held onto it,” Chelsea Green said.
Niven recently returned to action and the two competed this past week on Raw against the team of Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark.
