Swerve Strickland Discusses His Musical Connection To Prince Nana

Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana have known each other for years, long before the formation of the Mogul Embassy.

All Elite Wrestling‘s Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana were recent guests on HOT 97. When asked about Nana’s dance sweeping all over social media and being dubbed the Swerve Challenge, Strickland talked about the traction it’s picking up and the connection he and Nana had together.

“It’s picking up a lot of traction,” Swerve Strickland admitted. “It’s funny, like a lot of the fan base and some of the podcasters out there, they didn’t understand the real connection between me and Nana or the purpose of us being together. I believe we’re still trying to figure that out. We’re trying that as we continue on this journey we call pro wrestling.

“But we always had the music connection. He’s known me for years. But it just made sense to bond in that moment of joining Mogul Affiliates at the time with The Embassy and bridging that gap and bringing us together. He’s still in the music industry. He’s been kind of involved in the music industry and in and out of the music industry for years. He messes with the song heavy.”

With Prince Nana’s Swerve dance picking up steam, it’s also helped Strickland as the song he comes out to was made by him.

“He’s made it a thing to just like, ‘Swerve while he drives.’ It became a thing, and a lot of the fans started picking up on it,” Swerve Strickland said. “The camera people start shooting in the audience every week, and you see more and more people dancing, and then they started making their own things, like tagging us on IG, on social media, Twitter and all that stuff, TikTok. The beautiful thing about it, AEW didn’t make the song. It was mine.

“That is our actual song, so our numbers are shooting up every week, every time they TikTok it and they stream it. So keep streaming that thing. Big pressure by Swerve the Realest. Keep streaming that thing.”
