Bad Bunny has seemingly confirmed his exit from the planned Spider-Man spin-off El Muerto.
During an interview with Vanity Fair, Bad Bunny — real name Benito Antonio Martinez — was asked about the film. The musician’s publicist, Sujeylee Solá, cut in to say “Next question.” Martinez then said, “I don’t know what to say,” before calling the entire issue “delicate.”
Solá then once again spoke on the film, saying “obviously, it’s out.”
Bad Bunny’s involvement with El Muerto was originally reported in 2022. He was slated to star as the Marvel Comics character. However, filming for the movie was delayed. It was taken then off Sony’s calendar. The ongoing WGA strike has reportedly affected the project, as the script needed additional work that could not be completed in time.
Despite Martinez’s lack of involvement with the project, IGN reports that, per sources, the film is still in development However, it seems like the lead will need to be re-cast if and when it does pick back up.
Bad Bunny returned to WWE at WrestleMania 39 and headlined Backlash in a San Juan Street Fight against Damian Priest. There is no word on when he will make another appearance for the company.
