Love Pro Wrestling Hosting First Indie Event At Rogers Place In Edmonton

Love Pro Wrestling and the WHL hockey team Edmonton Oil Kings announced that they would be hosting the first-ever independent wrestling show at Rogers Place.

The event, called the Oil Rumble, is set to take place on January 21, 2024. This show will be the first time the Edmonton venue hosts an independent wrestling event. Previous wrestling events held there have been a WWE House Show in 2019, and an episode of AEW Dynamite earlier this year. The arena has a seating capacity of 18,347 when set up as a hockey venue.

“We’re honoured to have been asked to be a part of this event,” said LPW founder Spencer Love. “Since opening in September, 2016, Rogers Place has played host to some of Canada’s most memorable events, including the Oil Kings WHL Championship run in 2022. We’re incredibly proud to now be a part of that lineage in hosting the first-ever independent wrestling event in the building, and especially to be hosting in partnership with the Edmonton Oil Kings.”

“On Sunday, January 21, fans at Rogers Place will be treated to great action on the ice and the best indy wrestling on our stage. It’s going to be an afternoon filled with slapshots and suplexes – the best value in family entertainment has just got better!”

LPW x EOK: The Oil Rumble is scheduled to take place throughout the Oil Kings home game against the Saskatoon Blades on January 21st, 2024. The event will be included as part of all Edmonton Oil Kings ticket purchases, and is included in all 2024 LPW Season Ticket packages.
