Praise from Bully Ray

Since arriving in AEW, Swerve Strickland has feuded with some of the top names in the promotion. His latest target is none other than former AEW World Champion “Hangman” Adam Page.

Strickland and Page had a promo battle on Dynamite last week. The segment, specifically Swerve’s work, received praise from Bully Ray, who maintained that it was the best night of Strickland’s career in AEW thus far.

“Venture to say that tonight was the best night in AEW for Swerve Strickland. I liked what I saw in the ring, his presence, the way he carries himself, the way he separates himself from everybody else in the ring — and commands the spotlight. Swerve makes the spotlight find him,” Bully Ray said.

The veteran added that Strickland needs to get TV time every week because that’s how good he is.

“What happened to the Swerve-Keith Lee match? What happened to those two guys with tattoos that were with Swerve?” Bully asked. “Let’s get away from all of that. Give Swerve TV time every week. Let that whole Swerve swagger, demeanor, and heelish feel that he has really set in and resonate. Because I thought it worked tonight.” h/t WrestlingInc

The angle between Strickland and Page is expected to lead to a singles match at Dynamite: Grand Slam or WrestleDream. The Hangman is booked to square off against Brian Cage, one of Strickland’s stable mates in the Mogul Affiliates, this Wednesday on Dynamite.
