The AEW Grand Slam World Title Eliminator Tournament finals are set, with both semi-finals matches taking place during the September 9 episode of AEW Collision.
The first person to punch their ticket to the finals was Roderick Strong, who took down Darby Allin in one of the opening matches of tonight’s AEW Collision. In the end, Strong was able to get some help from AR Fox, who came in to fight Nick Wayne, who was trying to help Allin and distract Strong. Roderick ended the match with a big finisher to advance.
The final match of the night was also the final semi-finals match, and saw Samoa Joe once again dominate in a win. After beating Jeff Hardy last night at AEW Rampage, Joe would also beat Penta El Zero Miedo to advance to the finals. At the end of the match, Joe would lock in Penta into the Coquina Clutch for the submission win.
Now, Joe and Strong will face off on the September 13 episode of AEW Dynamite in the finals of the tournament. The winner of that match will go on to face off against MJF at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam, for the AEW World Championship.
