Asuka is back, and had a message for IYO SKY during tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown.
On Friday’s episode, Asuka shocked the WWE Universe by returning to the ring, appearing behind the security barricades, stealing SKY’s belt from Dakota Kai. The move distracted Dakota Kai and Bayley during a match between Damage CTRL and Charlotte Flair & Shotzi. The distraction cost Damage CTRL the match, with Shotzi pinning Bayley to score a win.
Following the match, Asuka then stepped into the ring and stared down IYO SKY. Later in the night, Damage CTRL commented on the move, with the group clearly unhappy that Asuka appeared and cost them a win. While Bayley threatened her, IYO SKY also said that she was ready for Asuka, and issued a challenge.
Asuka reigned for WWE Women’s Champion for 70 days, before her reign came to an end during a Triple Threat Match at WWE’s SummerSlam. Asuka lost the belt to Bianca Belair, who proceeded to lose the belt to IYO SKY, who cashed in her Money in the Bank contract.
