WWE will reportedly have more time to negotiate with Drew McIntyre.
In recent months, fans have speculated about Drew McIntyre’s future. His contract was reportedly set to expire in early 2024. However, a new update states that McIntyre will remain with the company for at least a little longer.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that McIntyre is locked in until around WrestleMania 40, as time has been added to his contract. This came after McIntyre took time off earlier in 2023.
Johnson also wrote that there hasn’t been much movement otherwise. The company has been focused on finalizing their deal with Endeavor. Per sources, there has not been a rush to sign McIntyre to a new deal, as there is still time to negotiate.
McIntyre took some time off after WrestleMania 39, and he returned at WWE Money in the Bank.
Drew McIntyre Comments On His Contract
Speaking with the Hindustan Times, McIntyre commented on the rumors about his contract. He stated that he is focused on the present.
“I mean, I keep reading the internet myself. I just saw something earlier. The internet keeps talking about my future, I guess. But my focus is on the here and now like I don’t look to the future, I don’t look to the past, I look to the present.
“My job right now is just making sure we give everybody in Hyderabad the best show possible and I’ll continue to give the best performance I can give at every show and I can see I don’t plan to be anywhere else. That’s as much as I can give.”
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
