Roderick Strong, Darby Allin Advance In Grand Slam Tournament On AEW Dynamite

The AEW Grand Slam World Title Eliminator Tournament began on the September 6 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite featured two quarterfinal matches. First, Trent Beretta took on Roderick Strong. Strong won the hard-fought match and punched his ticket to the next round with the End of Heartache.

In the main event, Darby Allin beat Nick Wayne to advance to the second round of the tournament. Allin scored the win after he trapped Wayne in a submission hold and stomped him into submission.

Strong and Allin will now face off against each other in the second round of the tournament, in a match set for Saturday night at AEW Collision.

The winner of that bout will then advance to the tournament finals on the September 13 episode of AEW Dynamite. There, the victor will earn a shot at AEW World Champion MJF at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam on September 20.

The tournament bracket can be found here.
