At ROH Final Battle 2022, Shane Taylor and JD Griffey battled Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland. The match marked Taylor’s debut in the new ROH following Tony Khan’s acquisition of the company.
Speaking with AEW France, Taylor was asked to describe how the match came about.
“The idea was Keith’s, plans were changing fluently as wrestling so often does but I was proud to share that stage with not only Keith but J.D. Griffey as well,” Shane Taylor said. “Even Swerve Strickland, he’s a complete jerk, but you can’t deny he’s one of the absolute best in the world at this craft and any other he involves himself in.”
Taylor also shared his thoughts on Tony Khan taking over ROH and expressed his excitement about the future.
““I think Tony’s takeover of ROH has been great so far,” Shane Taylor said. “A good mix of new, old, and nostalgic talent and I look forward to seeing what they continue to do.”
Taylor will challenge for the ROH World Television Championship at AEW All Out. More information is available here.
