Between Dave Bautista and John Cena, it seems that NetherRealm is trying to attract the pro wrestling audience for the upcoming release of Mortal Kombat 1.
This morning, a new trailer for Mortal Kombat 1 dropped featuring former WWE Superstar turned Hollywood actor Dave Bautista.
Despite his presence in the trailer, it doesn’t appear that The Animal is a selectable character in the game.
While you might not be able to play as Bautista, John Cena will suit up as Peacemaker as part of the first DLC season pass for the game. It has recently been confirmed that Cena has also recorded lines for the game.
This isn’t the first time a WWE Superstar has been involved with the Mortal Kombat franchise, as Ronda Rousey recorded lines as Sonya Blade for Mortal Kombat 11.
Mortal Kombat 1 will release on September 19 for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
