Report: Brian Pillman Jr. Starts With WWE NXT, ‘No Rush’ For His TV Debut

Brian Pillman Jr.’s move to WWE is reportedly complete.

Brian, the son of former WWE star Brian Pillman, had a WWE tryout in July following the expiration of his AEW contract. He was then set to be at the NXT TV taping on August 8.

Per Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Pillman Jr. has officially started with WWE NXT this week. However, Johnson cited sources who noted that there is “no rush” regarding Pillman Jr.’s debut on television. The current plan is for Pillman Jr. to get into the Performance Center system and “get his feet under him.”

WrestleZone will continue to monitor the situation and provide more information as it becomes available.

Brian Pillman Jr.’s Career So Far

Brina Pillman Jr. rose to prominence in MLW, where he was featured as a member of the New Era Hart Foundation alongside Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Teddy Hart. He started wrestling for MLW in 2019, and he later signed with the company in 2021 after he formed a tag team with Griff Garrison.

Collectively known as The Varsity Blonds, they were featured on AEW programming. This run ended when Garrison went down with an injury in October 2022. Pillman Jr. then teamed up with Brock Anderson. In his last match for AEW, he and Brock lost to The Gunns at a live event on May 13.
