Kamille Comments On NWA Women’s Title Loss At NWA 75

Kamille held the NWA Women’s World Championship for 813 days but that impressive reign has now ended. Kenzie Paige picked up a surprising win on night two of NWA 75, ending Kamille’s title reign.

The former champion has commented on dropping the “Burke” to Kenzie Paige, writing the following on Twitter:

“Held the title 813 days. Passed the torch to the next big thing,” Kamille wrote. “Kenzie you will be a wonderful champion, you’ve earned this. Now go out and show the world. My work here has been done. What’s next?”

Kamille closed with the #OneTime hashtag and a winking emoji, a nod to her title reign (and perhaps a second one in the future?)

Proving Them Wrong

Billy Corgan spoke with WrestleZone about Kamille’s impressive run in the NWA prior to NWA 75. Corgan said that Kamille has proven every one of her doubters wrong since she stepped in the ring, and he considers her a “gamer” to the highest degree.

“And when I think Kamille won the belt, I think she maybe had had something like 12, 14, 15 matches. There wasn’t a ton of work there. And people did question, ‘How can you be putting the belt on somebody that has this level of experience,’ internally, not just externally. She has proven basically anybody who ever doubted her in the professional wrestling business, and I would include a company that she at one point worked for and decided that she didn’t have an upside. She’s proven everybody wrong.

“So, we haven’t seen her at her absolute peak yet. Which is kind of weird because usually, people don’t win belts until they kind of actually have shown they have a peak. I think the audience, for lack of a better way to put it, is watching her grow month to month into that stature that a true champion carries, the mystique, the charisma, the ability to wrestle at the highest levels.”
