HOOK is now a two-time FTW Champion.
On the Zero Hour pre-show ahead of AEW All In, HOOK challenged Jack Perry for the FTW Championship. The former Jungle Boy rolled up in a fancy car, and HOOK met him on the ramp as he took the fight to the champion. “The Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil” smashed Perry into the car. Perry fought back and mocked Rob Van Dam with a Rolling Thunder.
HOOK slammed Perry onto the windshield with a Fisherman suplex. Perry subsequently stated that it was “real glass” in a nod to his reported dispute with CM Punk over his planned spot involving glass. The two stars continued to brawl, and in the end, HOOK took control, as he evaded a moonsault and locked in the Redrum, forcing Perry to tap out.
Perry, HOOK’s former JungleHOOK partner, turned on him at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. He then defeated HOOK to win the FTW Championship on the July 19 episode of AEW Dynamite. Perry went on to defend the title against Rob Van Dam on the August 9 episode.
