Nigel McGuinness says he won’t be wrestling at AEW All In.
The former ROH star signed with AEW in April. He has since joined the AEW Collision commentary team, and ahead of AEW All In, there were some rumblings he would return to the ring. The London native retired in 2011, but some fans speculated that he could wrestle at AEW’s debut in the United Kingdom. He even expressed that he would be open to coming out of retirement for the show.
In an interview with Tempest for Fightful, Nigel McGuinness was asked whether he will wrestle at AEW All In.
“No. I will not be wrestling that clam-digger Bryan Danielson, brittle Danielson, as some people are calling him nowadays, is not on the card,” Nigel McGuinness said. “So there’s not really any match for me, that being the case. I really do believe I’m far better off as a commentator anyway.
“I’m so excited for so many matches. Just be to be in that environment, where I was 31 years ago, deciding to be a wrestler. It’s gonna be heartfelt for me to go back there.”
As McGuinness noted, Bryan Danielson will miss the pay-per-view due to a broken arm. Danielson had been the rumored opponent for McGuinness in his potential return.
