Billy Corgan Invited Chris Nowinski To Provide Concussion Education To NWA Talent

The National Wrestling Alliance has invited the co-founder and CEO of Concussion Legacy Foundation to speak to the talent and referees.

In a recent Tweet, neuroscientist and former wrestler Chris Nowinski — who is a co-founder and serves as the CEO of Concussion Legacy Foundation — shared a video of his children getting to dance on stage during a recent Smashing Pumpkins concert.

In a follow-up Tweet, Nowinski revealed that Billy Corgan — the frontman for the band and owner of NWA — had invited him to provide concussion education to the NWA staff and crew. Corgan himself is also a national advisory board member for the Concussion Legacy Foundation.

“@Billy has been a great supporter of @ConcussionLF since the early days, and is a member of our national advisory board,” Nowinski wrote. “He’s invited me to provide concussion education to his @nwa talent and referees. But I also happen to be a huge fan…”

Nowinski is no stranger to the world of professional wrestling, having actually appeared in WWE under the name Chris Harvard for a year in 2002. In 2007, he and Robert Cantu founded the CLF, with the aim to help research and teach about concussions and CTE.
