IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Hiromu Takahashi will defend the gold at NJPW Destruction in Ryogoku.
New Japan Pro-Wrestling announced that Takahashi will put the title on the line in a three-way match on October 9. Mike Bailey and IMPACT X-Division Lio Rush will challenge Takahashi at the show.
Bailey earned a title shot by winning the All Star Junior USA Tournament. Meanwhile, Rush pinned Takahashi in a tag team match at IMPACT x NJPW Multiverse United 2. He then challenged Takahashi to a title match.
Additionally, NJPW announced that KUSHIDA and Kevin Knight will challenge Bullet Club War Dogs for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship. Plus, Tanga Loa will face Chase Owens.
