Cody Rhodes Names Batman And JFK Among His Non-Wrestling Influences

The Cody Rhodes character is inspired Batman, and also a former President of the United States.

During an AMA through the Squared Circle Reddit page, Rhodes was asked to name his top three non-wrestling influences on his wrestling style, persona and/or philosophy. He pointed to Batman, President John F. Kennedy, Elvis, and Prince.

“JFK, Batman, Elvis…also Prince,” Cody Rhodes wrote.

Rhodes did not elaborate on which version of “The Dark Knight” inspired him. Likewise, he did not specify whether he meant the comic book character of the live-action hero.

There’s no word on whether he was inspired by Adam West, Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Christian Bale, or another version of “The Caped Crusader.”

Rhodes is one of the top stars on WWE RAW. Check out the card for the August 21 episode of WWE RAW here. WrestleZone will have live coverage of the show as it airs.

Cody Rhodes Makes Strong Statements

In a recent interview with WrestleZone, Rhodes reflected on the ride he has been on since he left AEW.

“Long story short, I couldn’t have expected what was going to happen. I had plans, maybe, on another big left turn. I like to say I take a lot of left turns as far as doing things that are different, betting on myself. But this wasn’t anything that I could have expected. Right now as I’m answering this question,” Rhodes said. “It still hasn’t hit me how large of a run that’s happened for me, how lucky I am to have had this run just in WWE, just the recent time.

“I don’t know if the gravity of what I wanted to do and what’s actually been done since then,” Rhodes said. “[I don’t know] if I’m really aware of it. But I would like to continue making strong statements because they hold me to do strong things, I hope.”
