John Cena Set To Return On 9/1 WWE SmackDown

John Cena is coming back, at least for one show.

Ryan Satin of FOX Sports reports that John Cena is set to appear on the September 1 episode of WWE SmackDown from The Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The announcement did not indicate whether he will wrestle at the show.

Satin also wrote that Cena will travel to India for the WWE Superstar Spectacle event on September 8.

Update: Cena commented on the news and confirmed that he will wrestle at WWE Superstar Spectacle.

Cena last appeared at WWE Money in the Bank on July 1, where he had a confrontation with Grayson Waller. He also made a brief appearance in a video message on the August 18 episode of WWE SmackDown. There he thanked Edge on his 25th anniversary.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.

Grayson Waller Teases Another Showdown With John Cena

Following their encounter at WWE Money in the Bank, Grayson Waller teased that he’d like to see John Cena again. Speaking on WWE’s The Bump, Waller was asked whether he would want to have Cena on The Grayson Waller Effect.

“I would 100% have him on the show, I never let my personal rivalries get in the way of having a good show,” Waller said. “I had Shawn Michaels on my show, and me and Shawn Michaels don’t like each other, [so] I would have John Cena on the show, and I think it’s something he needs.

“When it comes to the WWE, what has he done lately besides lose? So I think he kind of needs someone like Grayson Waller to bring him back, give him maybe some of his mojo back. I think that would be great on the talk show.”

Fans will have to wait and see how Cena’s WWE return will unfold.
