Alex Shelley scored a major victory at IMPACT x NJPW Multiverse United 2.
In the main event, Shelley defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi to retain the IMPACT World Championship. The two stars battled it out in a hard-fought match, but Shelley scored the win with the Shellshock.
The victory marked a major moment in Alex Shelley’s remarkable career. Tanahashi is one of NJPW’s top stars, and he is an eight-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion. He is also a three-time IWGP United States Champion and a three-time G1 Climax winner. Tanahashi currently holds the NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Championship with Kazuchika Okada and Tomohiro Ishii.
Alex Shelley Will Defend The Gold On 8/24 IMPACT Wrestling
Alex Shelley’s next title defense will come on the August 24 episode of IMPACT Wrestling. There, he will defend the title against Brian Myers.
Shelley will also compete at IMPACT Emergence on August 27. He will team up with Josh Alexander, Chris Sabin, and KUSHIDA to face Bully Ray, Moose, Brian Myers, and Lio Rush.
