Giulia defended the gold at IMPACT x NJPW Multiverse United 2.
On August 20, IMPACT Wrestling and New Japan Pro-Wrestling held the Multiverse United 2 event at the 2300 Arena. Among other matches, Giulia defended the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship against Deonna Purrazzo, Gisele Shaw, and Momo Kohgo. The crowd was buzzing as soon as the match started, as they chanted “Women’s wrestling” early on.
All four competitors put their bodies on the line throughout the line. Shaw gained the upper hand with a dive to the outside. The four women were down after a flurry of offense. Shaw took out Giulia with a Spear. Purrazzo drilled Shaw with a kick, but Gisele fired back with a Spanish fly.
Giulia rallied with a Saito suplex to Kohgo. Purrazzo floored Giulia with a piledriver. Shaw took control again, but Giulia ultimately slammed Gisele and pinned her.
Kohgo attacked Giulia after the bell, but the champion fought her off and stood tall.
Giulia previously won the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship at NJPW STRONG Indepence Day on July 5.
