Mike Bailey has earned a shot at the gold.
On August 19, several companies came together for the All Star Junior Festival. IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Hiromu Takahashi competed at the show, and he appeared again at the end of the night.
The event featured the All Star Junior USA Tournament. In the opening round, Mike Bailey defeated Francesco Akira, and Kevin Knight beat Clark Connors. In the tournament finals, Bailey defeated Knight. As a result, he earned the right to challenge for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship.
Bailey then called out Takahashi as he looked forward to challenging for the title.
As of this writing, the date for the title match between Bailey and Takahashi has not been announced.
At IMPACT x NJPW Multiverse United 2, Bailey and Takahashi will face Lio Rush and Trey Miguel. WrestleZone will have coverage of the show as it airs.

“Speedball” Mike Bailey has wrestled all over the world, and he has been a featured member of the IMPACT Wrestling roster since the beginning of 2022. He is a former IMPACT X-Division Champion, and he has also held titles in DDT and Capital City Championship Combat, among other promotions. Bailey won PWG’s prestigious Battle of Los Angeles tournament in January 2023.
