Edge Addresses Live Crowd After 8/18 WWE SmackDown, Comments On His Future

Edge says he doesn’t know what the future holds.

On the August 18 episode of WWE SmackDown, Edge defeated Sheamus in what he said was the last match on his current WWE contract. Heading into the show, fans speculated on the WWE Halll of Famer’s future. Once the bell rang on Friday, Edge celebrated his victory, and he was clearly emotional.

After SmackDown went off the air, Edge addressed the live crowd. He stated that he didn’t know what the future holds, but he told the fans the match marked his last bout in Toronto.

“I don’t know what the future holds, I really don’t,” Edge said. “I gotta sit home this week, lick my wounds, talk to my family, and see what they want me to do. But what I can say Toronto is thank you.

“What I can say is this is my last one in front of y’all. I don’t think I can it another full run to get here again for another match. I’m just being honest with you. But don’t let that be a downer because what an experience you all gave me. I will never forget it. I will never forget it, and when I’m 84 years old and I don’t remember much, I’m damn sure gonna remember this. Thank you.”
