AEW’s Cash Wheeler Arrested For Aggravated Assault With A Firearm

One-half of the AEW World Tag Team Champions Cash Wheeler was arrested earlier this morning for aggravated assault.

The Orlando Sentinel reports that Cash Wheeler (real name Daniel Wheeler) was arrested earlier this morning by the Orlando Police Department and was charged with one count of aggravated assault with a firearm.

All Elite Wrestling issued the following statement to the Sentinel:

“AEW has been made aware of the charge, and we are closely monitoring the situation. (Wheeler) is fully cooperating with local authorities.”

Cash Wheeler is scheduled to defend the AEW World Tag Team Titles with Dax Harwood against The Young Bucks at AEW All In on August 27.

Wheeler was last seen on television earlier this week on AEW Dynamite alongside Dax Harwood, where they saved The Young Bucks from an attack by Bullet Club Gold.

In an update from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Wheeler is slated for a hearing this afternoon at 1 PM EST. Additionally, a warrant for Wheeler’s arrest was filed on July 28. Wheeler filed a plea of not guilty on August 3.

Johnson has also confirmed that the Circuit Court of Orange County did not ask Wheeler to surrender his passport today. Since Wheeler hasn’t been convicted, there are no restrictions on Wheeler being able to travel internationally for All In.
