The August 21 episode of WWE RAW will feature an Intercontinental Championship match.
WWE confirmed that Gunther will defend the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Chad Gable on Monday. Gunther himself shared the news on the August 14 as he addressed Gable. The Alpha Academy member previously defeated Matt Riddle, Tommasso Ciampa, and Ricochet on the August 7 episode.
Gable will enter the title match with some momentum, as he beat Giovanni Vinci on August 14.
Additionally, The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) will face Drew McIntyre and Matt Riddle. Kingston and Woods issued the challenge during a backstage confrontation with McIntyre and Riddle on Monday. Riddle and McIntyre beat the Viking Raiders earlier in the show.
