Report: Update On Hangman Page And CM Punk

A new report provides an update on the situation involving Hangman Page and CM Punk.

Punk made waves when he cut a post-show promo and targeted Page following the August 12 episode of AEW Rampage.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that Page was around to do a pre-tape, but him being asked to leave has not been confirmed. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported that Page was informed the pre-tape had to be done away from the venue. Nick Hausman of Haus of Wrestling reported that Punk’s post-show comments about Page did not come off the way he wanted, and he felt bad about them.

Per Sapp, Punk claims that he wants to talk to Page, Omega, and the Young Bucks, but they refuse to. Sources noted that Page typically avoids the situation altogether, and he has not been interested in working with Punk at least for the past year or so. Per Sapp, on Page’s side, the situation was not a work.

Others have expressed their belief that Punk is trying to work himself into an angle. However, sources close to The Elite said that these situations have made the group want to distance themselves more.

Details On Talent Getting Unbooked For AEW Collision

In the report, Sapp confirmed that Matt Hardy and Isiah Kassidy were set for recent AEW Collision tapings. However, their travel was unbooked after initially being booked. They were not slated for the August 12 episode.

Sapp wrote that the talent who have been pulled believe it was CM Punk, but that has not been confirmed. In the report, Sapp wrote that Khan’s reaction to the situation as been unclear, aside from his excitement that Punk is back.

WresteZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
