Hangman Page Labeled ‘Peg Warmer’ By CM Punk In Post Collision Promo

CM Punk took a second after the August 12 episode of AEW Collision to take some shots at Hangman Page.

Speaking to the crowd after the show, Punk noticed some Adam Page signs in the crowd. he then said, said “Carolina is Hangman country? Earlier today, I went to a local supermarket and I figured out why they call him Hangman. It’s because the pegs in the toy aisle are full of Hangman action figures because nobody wants to buy them. He’s a peg warmer, unlike me, who moves merchandise, pops ratings, sells toys. You got everybody in AEW saying, ‘I’m the heart, I’m the soul, I’m the spirit.’ Well, that’s objective, what’s a fact is the people who say that certainly aren’t the chin of AEW because the lights go out faster than, what? GTS, Go to sleep, I don’t know what I am trying to do, I got rocked too. I told the House of Black, ‘no chops,’ and they chopped me, so I’m very mad.”

It’s widely known that Punk & Page saw their relationship go south during a promo last year. Hangman nonchalantly reference Punk reportedly trying to get Colt Cabana fired from AEW. CM Punk also disliked their Double or Nothing 2022 match; he thought Page worked stiff and legitimately hit him in the mouth.

Update On CM Punk’s Promo On Hangman Page

Per Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Page had been sent to Greensboro for the Collision taping for a pre-tape interview. However, upon arrival, he was told that they would have to do it away from the venue. As a result, Page did not attend the show.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that, per sources, the promo was not a work. He also wrote it was not something Page was involved in.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
