AEW Dynamite viewership saw a decrease on August 9.
According to Wrestlenomics, 846,000 viewers watched the show on Wednesday night, and it drew a 0.29 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic. The viewership decreased from last week’s episode when 894,000 viewers tuned in. The demo also dropped from last week‘s episode, which also drew a 0.31 rating in the same demographic.
Despite a decline in numbers, AEW Dynamite still ranked number one on cable for Wednesday.
What happened on AEW Dynamite this week?
This week’s show kicked off with a mandatory meeting of the Jericho Appreciation Society. Chris Jericho was confronted and walked out on by every member of the group. Following the segment, Jericho told Don Callis he’d give him an answer about joining his family next week.
This episode also saw the AEW in-debut of Rob Van Dam, who was defeated by FTW Champion Jack Perry. The card for AEW All In also started to come together.
In the main event, Hikaru Shida defeated Anna Jay to retain the AEW Women’s World Championship.
