Zack Sabre Jr. highlights his dedication to NJPW.
Sabre Jr., a three-time IWGP Tag Team Champion, advanced to the Elite Eight in the NJPW G1 Climax 33 tournament with his win on August 9. The victory marked the first time he moved on to the quarter-finals, and he is determined to make the most of his opportunity.
In a video shared by NJPW WORLD, Sabre Jr. delivered a passionate message following his win.
“Seven years. Seven years to get out of the block stage,” Sabre Jr. said. “I’ve won tournaments all over the world. For some reason, I couldn’t get out of the bloody block stage. Until now. Until now. Listen, this company’s desperate, huh. Desperate for the Reiwa Three Musketeers to be the new face of this company. Guess what? They couldn’t make it.”
Zack Sabre Jr. Vows To Prove He’s The Best
The reigning NJPW World Television Champion then described how he has turned down contracts from major American promotions. He stated that he has been dedicated to Japanese wrestling for his adult life, and he implied that the company should get behind him.
“What New Japan needs has been staring them in the face for seven years. I turned down contracts with all the major American companies,” Zack Sabre Jr. said. “I’ve dedicated my whole adult life to Japanese pro wrestling. You want to talk about dedication? Who this company should get behind? I’m not even on the fucking posters for this tour. That changes when I win it. Right now, I’m reminding every single one of you why I’m one of the best wrestlers in the world. When I win the G1 Climax, I’ll prove that I am the best wrestler in the world.”
Sabre Jr. is a renowned technical wrestler, and he has competed around the globe. He was part of the WWE Cruiserweight Classic in 2016. More recently, as part of NJPW’s relationship with AEW, he has wrestled for AEW and ROH.
