Sonya Deville has been sidelined with a major injury.
As reported by TMZ Sports, WWE star Sonya Deville has suffered a torn ACL, and she will require surgery. The report notes that Deville will be out indefinitely.
Deville is one-half of the reigning WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions alongside Chelsea Green. They won the titles by defeating Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez on the July 17 episode of WWE RAW. In doing so, they won the first titles of their WWE careers.
TMZ Sports cited sources who noted that Deville suffered the injury on the July 28 episode of WWE SmackDown. There, she and Green lost to Bianca Belair and Charlotte Flair. There is no timetable for her return to the ring.
The report also notes that WWE will address the future of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship on the August 7 episode of WWE RAW.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful confirmed that Deville sustained a torn MCL.
