LA Knight Has A Hard Time Trusting The Process, He Has To Trust Himself A Lot

LA Knight has a hard time trusting the process after so many years in the business.

Right now, wrestling fans all over the world are saying “YEAH” with LA Knight. The former Eli Drake is the latest overnight sensation, getting massive reactions everywhere he goes. Ahead of the upcoming SummerSlam Slim Jim Battle Royal, Knight has been making the rounds of media interviews to promote the big battle royal and talk about life as a rising WWE phenomenon.

Speaking with WESH 2, Knight explains why he has difficulty “trusting the process.” Knight may be new to the WWE main roster but is not new to the wrestling industry as a whole and therefore, says he’s heard a lot of spin doctors over the years and has learned to be less-trusting.

“Oh, some have called me bulletproof at this point. And that might be true. I have a tough time trusting the process if I’m very honest. And that’s just because I’ve been doing this for so long that you hear so many things, ‘This is supposed to happen, this is supposed to happen,’ and it doesn’t happen. So all I can really do, like I said, is just continue doing what I do. So at that point, it’s kind of like, I got to trust in myself a lot.”

Trust In Yourself

Knight says he knows there’s a point when he needs to start to trust others, but it’s still all on him at the end of the day.

“There is a point where you do have to kind of start trusting the process to some degree. But at the end of the day, it does come back to me, what am I doing, ”I gotta trust in my own process, trust in what I’m doing, and just keep on doing what I’m doing. Because I’ve known for a very long time, and I don’t mean to say this in a braggadocious way, I just knew that I always had something to give.

“I always knew that I had something to offer this business. Having that in mind and trusting that and continuing to push that forward, and, like I said, assert my will, it has paid off immensely. At this point, it hasn’t even fully paid off yet. We’re still just getting there. We’re still just building at this point. So anything that’s happening at this point, we’re just about to take off.”

LA Knight will look to build momentum in the SummerSlam Battle Royal presented by Slim Jim. This Battle Royal is part of a new partnership between WWE and Slim Jim that is said to be the most lucrative sponsorship deal in WWE history.
