AEW Dynamite Viewership Stays Even On 8/2, Demo Rises

AEW Dynamite viewership stayed relatively even on August 2.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, 894,000 viewers watched the show on Wednesday night, and it drew a 0.31 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic. The viewership stayed pretty much even from last week’s episode when 898,000 viewers tuned in. The demo did rise from last week‘s episode, which also drew a 0.29 rating in the same demographic.

Meltzer also confirmed that Dynamite finished number one on cable for Wednesday.

What happened on AEW Dynamite this week?

This week’s show celebrated 200 episodes of AEW Dynamite and kicked off with Chris Jericho and Konosuke Takeshita defeating Sammy Guevara and Daniel Garcia. This loss triggered a confrontation backstage between Jericho and Matt Menard, who tells Jericho that there is a mandatory meeting of the Jericho Appreciation Society next week.

This episode also saw the surprise debut of Rob Van Dam, who confronted FTW Champion Jack Perry. The two men will face each other next week for the FTW Championship.

In the main event, Hikaru Shida defeated Toni Storm to capture the AEW Women’s World Championship for the second time.
